ABOUT THE
SCOPE REGISTRY
Scientific Consortium Of Prostate Cancer Education
The SCOPE Registry is a long-term effort to collect real, detailed information from thousands of African American men with prostate cancer. This includes medical history, treatment decisions, side effects, and outcomes — as well as biological samples like blood or tissue, which can help researchers study how the disease develops and why it affects people differently.

Importance:
-
In 70 prostate cancer studies with over 893,000 people:
-
96% of the participants were White.
-
19% didn’t mention race at all.
-
African and Caribbean men were underrepresented.
-
Black participation has actually gone down over time

How it Works:
-
Nationwide network of clinics and hospitals that serve African American communities
-
Mentorship and ambassador programs to get trusted voices involved in research
-
Easy-to-use tools for clinics and patients, developed in partnership with a leading health data company
-
Data from both new and past patients — tracking each man’s journey over time
The SCOPE Registry is creating better tools to diagnose and treat prostate cancer in African American men, ensuring more inclusive research and better outcomes. By joining as a patient, doctor, researcher, or community partner, you can help shape a future where no one is left out of cancer care.
